I’ve been planning this for a few weeks. Just got the parts back yesterday..
Currently the Untangle box has a Core 2 duo & 4 NIC’s inside. However im planning on doing some shopping and research to buy a I3 board 4 -8 gigs ram and a quad port LOW profile PCI-e NIC.
Object is to build a POWERHOUSE Untangle firewall, but LOW power consumption. I’ve talked to YeOldeStonecat lots, and going to go with the suggestion of the I3, that way if i need the power i have it on hand, and when i don’t need it, it will run at a slower clock speed.. I’m thinking about a Supermicro board, with IPMI and a Intel I3.
